Site for Yates Buckley’s ramblings, sometimes related to technology, science, advertising and his favorite company UNIT9’s work.
There are ways of looking at the world through lenses that give a very different sense of time and space. Bubbles pop, tulips drop, Ponzi’s fade and we are left with dynamics of ecosystems and humans that dance across much longer timescales. I am curious about these spaces where ideas are full of possibility.
Over the year 2025 I tried to create regular content aiming at making more sense of Large Language Models and how to react to them from a creative perspective:
- On one hand clarifying the sort of work and activity that cannot be performed by AI, fully, and to some extent, ever. And I take this as a direction Artists should dedicate more effort to to avoid creating things that might be mixed up with synthetic production.
- On the other hand looking for how the technological change actually opens up new mediums for expression, for example what I call LLM Games that are Prompt based simulations of a sort.
I am interested in the craft of writing and the obtruse subjects I bring up, I apologise because a lot of what I do is not so accessible, but I do my best!
